People came to the park to relax, take a break from their busy lives, or go for a walk.
One day, a young girl named Maya visited the park after school. She had been feeling stressed with her homework and wanted a moment of peace. As she walked through the garden, she noticed an elderly man sitting on a bench, feeding the birds. The man had a kind smile, and Maya was drawn to him. She sat down next to him and smiled shyly.
The man looked at her and said, "The park is a place of calm, my dear. It teaches us to slow down and appreciate the little things in life." Maya was surprised. Q5: Write a speech for the morning assembly on how we can protect endangered animals.   [15 marks]

Ans:  Protection of Endangered Animals
Good morning, everyone.
I stand before you today to speak about an urgent and crucial issue—the protection of endangered animals.
The extinction of any species is not just the loss of that species, but a loss to the entire ecosystem and biodiversity of our planet. Species become extinct when the necessary conditions for their survival are no longer available. While changes in soil patterns, climate, and water availability are natural factors that can contribute to extinction, it is human activities that play the most significant role in the loss of species.
Hunting, poaching, and illegal trade in animal products like meat, skin, ivory, and fur are some of the leading causes of this crisis. Unfortunately, economic interests often take precedence over the lives of these animals, leading to their ruthless exploitation.
Despite the efforts made by governments and wildlife organizations to protect endangered species, these efforts have clearly not been enough. Poachers and hunters frequently find ways to evade authorities and continue their harmful activities.
It is high time for all of us to join hands and take greater responsibility for the preservation of our planet’s fauna. We must work together to ensure that the protection of endangered species becomes a top priority, not just for governments but for each one of us. Our actions, no matter how small, can contribute to the survival of these species.
Thank you for your valuable time.

Thursday
Dear Diary,

Today has been a delightful and eventful day. For the longest time, I have been wanting to be with friends. Despite being treated with so much love and living in the best booth of the royal stables, I felt sad in my heart because I had no friends. The Mahout, a kind and caring man, is my caretaker, he ensures that I am fed and bathed daily. However, his role has been more of a caretaker than a friend.

Last evening, a stray dog, wandered into my stable. The poor creature appeared to be very hungry, so I decided to share my food with him. As I pushed my food towards him, he wagged his tail thankfully, he ate and then he fell asleep.

This morning, the mahout discovered the dog in the stable but did not mind his presence. He even threw some crumbs to the dog, who accepted them joyfully. It was clear that the dog enjoyed my company as much as I enjoyed his. When it was time for my bath, the dog accompanied me.

I have finally found a friend to share my joy with, and I couldn’t be happier.

Bye for now.
Gajaraj
